Christine Addington

Christine is a dedicated pelvic health physiotherapist focused on providing a warm, supportive approach to her patients. She specialises in a range of concerns, including pregnancy-related issues, bladder and bowel health, prolapse, and sexual wellbeing. With personal experience in neurodivergence and mental health, she emphasises neurodivergent-inclusive practices, which have been enhanced by her recent training with Neuro Births.

Christine has a background in contemporary dance, a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, and a Doctorate in Physiotherapy. Christine’s desire to work in pelvic health physiotherapy started during her doctorate in physiotherapy after seeing the powerful impact pelvic health physiotherapy had on those experiencing symptoms of bladder and bowel dysfunction. Afterwards, she realised that she, too had been dealing with symptoms in silence. She uses this academic, personal and physiotherapeutic training to continually provide sessions that meet the needs and priorities of her clients.

During physiotherapy therapy sessions, Christine fosters a nurturing environment where trust and safety are paramount. She adopts a gentle approach honouring each patient’s unique boundaries and personal pace. By embracing a holistic approach, she addresses not only physical symptoms but also the emotional and social aspects of people’s lives, working through challenges and guiding people towards lasting recovery and overall wellness.

Outside of the clinic, she works as a health researcher. Her areas of interest include collaborating with communities to eliminate barriers to healthcare. She has experience in improving healthcare services, with a focus on the combined impact of long-term health conditions such as multiple sclerosis and HIV, on pelvic health care and anal cancer.

Christine holds memberships with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), the Pelvic, Obstetric, and Gynecology Physiotherapists (POGP), and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
